Now this is the kind of outcome I was hoping for the first time I painted this baby. Clean, subtle, but still graphic. Before I painted this, a while back I asked yall which design you wanted me to try. I obviously went with the faux bois. I'm still learning this technique, but I'm loving the overall effect.
When I first "messed up" with an awful blue color, a few of you were nice enough to compliment me anyway, but as you can see, gray just works much better for our room.
I lightly distressed the corners. I wanted that to be very subtle so the faux bois effect would have a bigger impact.
Then, I added some clean hardware, and went with a rubbed bronze. I chose this for a few reasons. I wanted something that popped. Silver would have blended too much and I think brass would have clashed.
Oh, you love that little silver dish? You can get it here!
Ok, ok...so I did rough up the top corners just a bit. But once I started sanding it just started looking so pretty!
Here is the original "Before". Oh, and did I mention that hardware didn't move? Like when I stuck my fingers under the handle to open the drawers I scraped my knuckles every.single.time.
And just how bad was the blue I tried painting on the first "After"?
So after a little tail tucking and head hanging, I drug my "blach" blue and white night stand back outside. Thankful this time I got the look I was going for.
After the "After"

Can you see why that crazy blue doesn't work in our room? Ha!
As much as I am now loving this little night stand, I'm going to put it for sale in my Shop.
Also, and I have hate to do this, but I can't ship this piece. I've shipped mirrors and chairs, but this will be for local delivery or pick up only. If you live in the Southeast and are interested, let me know!
