Friendly Spaces: All Things Bright & Beautiful

So I'm pretty sure there isn't an introduction that would actually do this girl much justice, but I'll try.  I'm so excited to have the ever so lovely and colorful, Aubrey her today.  And in Aubrey fashion I'm just going to let her steal the show and I might insert a few comments.  So...the one, the only... {and notice how she starts with "yall"!}

Hey y'all!!! It's Aubrey from All Things Bright and Beautiful!!!
I'm completely thrilled to be sharing my little princess' room with you today!
{commence happy dance, probably complete with Backyardigan's music...I'm the only one familiar with them???? Shoot. That is what happens when you hang out with small humans all day! (c: }
(Jessamie here: Umm...we hum that in our house all the time.  Even when it's not on.)
I always enjoy Jessamie and her amazing home...I like it so much that I just featured hers on my little bloggy! (In case you were wondering, it was a HUGE hit!)
So we are in the midst of H-E-double hockey sticks  law school at our house, so being budget friendly is not only a great way to get stuff with real character, it's a MUST! We are also renters, so the fun stuff can't be too permanent (DARN YOU, LANDLORD!).
So this is what we came up with for the short person's room (do you think that *maybe* I like color?):
If your eyes are *really* good, then you spied this print in the corner there...yes, I agree the whole "keep calm" thing is played out, but if you have a 2 year-old, then you know how necessary little reminders like this are. Seriously.
Her dresser is a Goodwill score ($30 and SUPER sturdy), I just swapped out the knobs for these cute lil' polka dot ones from Hobby Lobby (another one of my serious addictions, but that is a rant for another day).
I am so in love with these prints from Sugar Fresh:
Sorry about the horrid picture, no skillz.
This lamp was a garage sale score that originally was a gross stained wood with a lamp shade covered in some sort of weird paper with leaves in it. No joke.
A coat of white paint and some darling yellow grosgrain ribbon, and it is a cute addition to the room for less than $10!
Now I have a confession. I am a pillow addict.
Sooooo...of course I had to add some fun ones to this room:
The little green pillow was a clearance score from Hobby Lobby, I made the little flower details for the second pillow with this tutorial, and the third is this darling pillow:
You might notice that this room isn't completely finished, right?
Things I'm still desperately wanting/needing for this room...
A brilliant bookshelf (okay, maybe not on this scale, but brilliant (c: )...
(Jessamie here:  Aubrey, these are so easy to make!)
Some fantastic curtains...perhaps these (if I can pry the $$$ from my husband's tightly clenched fist (c:)...
Then again, these would be a smashing DIY, right? (c:
Speaking of DIY's, how much to you love Jessamie for all her fabulous DIY's and furniture overhauls?!? She is so talented and down right hilarious, I'm glad she let me butt in for a day. (c; Thanks, J!!!

Aubrey = The best!
Love it and I can't wait to see it when you've added the details.  Her room is so stink'n cute and I would expect nothing less!
