Island Lighting Delights: Arcadian Lighting

I'm excited to be visiting Bird & Branch Redesign today as a guest blogger. The topic at hand is lighting for the kitchen island - with so many beautiful light fixtures available right now, it's all about narrowing down the options and making the best choices. Here are the eight island lighting delights we've chosen as some of our favorites. Enjoy! 





The flared glass shades on these slim metal suspension lamps have a delicate feel that works well above this working/eating island.





The perfect lighting for this marble topped kitchen island is a trio of hanging light fixtures with metal accented shades.





Oversized hanging lanterns are another beautiful option for over the island in a traditional kitchen.





A trio of Cooper pendants has lovely vintage appeal, but they're actually available right now from Oly Design Studio. I love the shape and the shiny copper lining inside with a dull finish on the outside.





A single drum pendant with a customized shade matching the bar stools looks fresh and contemporary in this stylish white kitchen.





Bronze with hand-rubbed antique brass, these Hicks pendant lights by Thomas O'Brien are among my favorite kitchen island lighting fixtures.





Perhaps the most delightful of island lighting is the chandelier. In this case, two lovely curvy chandeliers give a traditional kitchen a touch of glamour and femininity.





This curved island is bathed in the warm glow of light from five, yes five, wrought iron chain-suspended pendants with glass shades.
