Weird title for someone who refinishes furniture, huh?
How was your weekend?!
{Not you, you Haven-goer's, I know your's was awesome!}
We stayed home for the first weekend in 8 weeks...yup, you read that right, 2 months. To say that little Bean is a trooper for Momma is the understatement of the year. She's pretty awesome like that. Anywho, since we were home I finally had time to tackle a few things that had been...let's say, getting a little stale. Like our dining room. Other than changing the runner or table cloth this room gets little attention. Which is weird because it's right smack in the middle of the house.
Can I get an amen for having time to do a weekend project?
Thankfully I had a canvas that an un-named girlfriend of mine had from her MIL that just wasn't cutting it anymore. I had thought about printing out a huge map of Charleston {the hub's hometown}, and putting it on there, but I liked that idea better for the bedroom, and this scale was too large.
Blah, blah, blah.
Ok, so after being inspired by some pretty inspiring ladies, like Julia, Chassity, and Anna, I decided to try my hand at it. This is seriously the first time I've touched a paint brush smaller than 2 inches since probably grade school, middle at best. Needless to say, I wasn't expecting much, but I'm kind of loving the way it turned out!

Looking at it now, I kind of wish I would've painted the sides black...hmmm
