First, I have to say, I have been really encouraged by so many amazing women that I have stumbled across in the blog world. Seeing so many lovely ladies really make the commitment to do something they love has been just the push I needed to do something fun and rewarding for myself.
The name 'Bird and Branch Redesign' is more than just a cute name. 'Bird' has actually been part of my nickname since I was a little girl. My Grandpa always called me his chickadee, and my Dad has called me J-bird for as long as I can remember. My husband has carried on the 'J-bird' tradtion for me. Plus, I love bird decorations! So, needless to say, the 'Bird' portion was kind of a no-brainer. The 'Branches' refers to the wood furniture I will be working with. I hope to be able to provide beautiful wooden pieces for you and your home.
With that said, interior design has always been a part of my life. I remember going with my mom to meet her clients when I was a little girl. I love the way a space can be transformed with just a few colors or a new layout. But, behind every well designed room is all that wonderful furniture...this is where I come in!
Painting furniture has always been fun for me. I cannot tell you how much I love giving a beautifully worn piece of furniture new life! The whole process is exciting to me. I love finding the hidden gems and uncovering all their potential. With some TLC, and sometimes new hardware, furniture can become current and beautiful all over again. I am going to have my works in progress and hopefully offer some advice. Although, I have to warn you...anytime you use paint there is always trial and error {haha}!
